National Harbor

A Well-Deserved Getaway to MGM National Harbor

Starting my own business has been an incredible journey, but let’s be real—it’s a lot of work. Between launching Chesapeake IT Services LLC and keeping up with client needs, I had been running nonstop. I needed a break, and what better way to recharge than a quick getaway with Nicole?

So, in mid-November, we packed up and headed to National Harbor for a much-needed night of relaxation and fun. We stayed at The Westin, which was the perfect spot to unwind, and had dinner at Ginger, a fantastic Asian restaurant inside MGM National Harbor.

Now, let’s talk about the Dungeness crab. It was my first time trying it, and while I love seafood, I have to say—the way they prepared it was an absolute sloppy mess. It tasted fine, but let’s just say I was not expecting that level of chaos on my plate. Lesson learned!

After dinner, we did a little gambling. No big wins or handpays this time, but that didn’t matter—we were just there to have fun and enjoy the night.

Taking this short trip reminded me how important it is to step away, even for just a night, and enjoy life. Running a business is rewarding, but so is making great memories along the way.

Until next time, National Harbor! 🎲🍀

Halloween 2024

A Spooky, Fun-Filled Halloween in Our Neighborhood

Halloween this year was one for the books! Nicole and I had a perfect plan—she organized a neighborhood gathering at the pavilion, bringing everyone together for food, fun, and community. Meanwhile, I was fully committed to my role as the Grim Reaper, ready to give trick-or-treaters a night they wouldn’t forget.

We went all out decorating the house, setting the perfect eerie atmosphere. Spooky flickering lights lined the path and pole light, casting creepy shadows everywhere. Then came my favorite part—the scare setup.

I positioned myself in a chair right in front of the door, draped in my full Grim Reaper costume, a giant bowl of candy in my lap. I sat as still as possible, blending in with the decorations, waiting for my unsuspecting victims.

The best part? Watching trick-or-treaters debate whether I was real or just a statue. Some would nervously approach, whispering to each other, “Do you think it’s a person?” I’d let a few pass, building up the suspense. But for the ones who got way too close, just as they let their guard down—I’d suddenly move and let out a yell! The reactions were priceless—shrieks, jumps, nervous laughter, and pure Halloween fun.

The night was filled with laughter, good scares, and great memories. I love my neighborhood, the sense of community we have, and this amazing new chapter of my life with Nicole.

Can’t wait to do it all again next year! 🎃👻
