I woke up in the morning and had breakfast as per usual and checked out around 10am. I was bound for Baltimore Inner Harbor. This was the grand finale of the week so I had a waterfront, harbor view room at the Marriott. It’s a great location for visits to the area. I ended up posted up at Phillips Crabhouse bar for the afternoon and early evening drinking and eating. A friend told me about Candlebox playing across the street and for $27.50 who could pass that up? Not this guy.
I arose and had breakfast as per normal. I had a rapid COVID test appointment at Vybecare at 10am. I walked over and was in and out in no time. i ended up meandering for a while ending up in Franklin Square hanging out in an Adirondack chair watching families and kids play miniature golf and ride the rides. I hung out there for a while catching up on emails and texts. Later, on the way to the show the Uber driver forced me to get out in an unsafe way in the middle of Broad Street because they were too lazy to do it right. It was the first time I ever left a 1-star review for an Uber driver. I had a pit ticket to this show and I think I’m not going to be getting pit anymore for Shinedown. It was just too crazy. I ended up surrounded by assholes and not having as good a time as I should have been. I made the best of it. I headed back to the hotel for a few nightcaps and called it night shortly after.
Today I had off from concerts. I spent the day wandering around Old City visiting museums, pubs, parks, etc. I found the Museum of the American Revolution and Ben Franklin’s Museum to be both captivating and educational. I tried to get into Independence Hall but security wasn’t to my liking. I saw the liberty bell, Christ church, the Arch Street Meeting House, and more. I had lunch at Sto’s Bar on Market Street and the food and atmosphere was good. I ended up posting up at the hotel bar later that night because I just didn’t want to stagger far to get to bed. Had dinner and called it an early night.
At this point I’m on Day 3 of my week long, east coast concert tour. I head down to the concierge lounge and have breakfast then back to the room to be lazy for a bit. I have to pace myself; its a marathon not a sprint. I head out for lunch and back the hotel before heading out again to The Mann Center. I have GA for this show so I had to get there fairly early. I was still probably 50 people back by the time I got there. This was my first live Lord Huron show and I have to say the band and its fans are pretty awesome folks. Certainly in the same vein as Jacket and their fans. Allison Ponthier opened for Lord Huron performing her first live tour show ever. Lord Huron melted faces throughout the crowd. Somehow I managed to get a signed concert poster I am still ecstatic about.
